Energiefonds Overijssel, one of the funds managed by StartGreen Capital, signed an agreement with deltaWonen this week for a loan of 7 million. With this loan, the Overijssel housing association can make 153 homes in Kampen more sustainable.

More energy efficient

To make the homes more energy efficient, they will receive better insulation and hybrid heat pumps, heat recovery systems and solar panels will be installed. In addition, deltaWonen is working with grid operator Enexis on an upgrade of the electricity grid in the district, in preparation for an energy-efficient future. Measures are being taken for birds and bats, such as installing nest boxes, so that they can continue to nest in the neighborhood.

Wide range

Evert Leideman, director of deltaWonen is very happy with the financing: 'The money makes a wide range of energy-saving measures possible. This includes insulation improvements, installation of energy-efficient heating systems and the application of biobased and circular materials. All this contributes to energy savings and therefore of course to the living happiness of our residents. We started the project in April this year. According to plan, Ter Steege Bouw Vastgoed from Rijssen will complete the work in the course of 2025.'

Climate target closer

Energy savings by taking sustainability measures is an important part of the energy transition in Overijssel. Based on this idea, deltaWonen received financing from the Energy Fund. Joost Vlot, Investment Manager Energy Savings and Real Estate of Energiefonds Overijssel says: 'The Energy Fund aims for a climate-proof and energy-neutral Overijssel by 2050. Through collaboration with deltaWonen and other partners, we can realize this transition and therefore our energy goal in Overijssel. In this way we take steps together towards a more sustainable future.'
