Who better to judge whether a start-up has potential than entrepreneurs who have successfully brought a company to fruition themselves? Sifted, the news platform for the European start-up community, posted a list of founders who are currently financing start-ups. At the top of the list are our own Laura Rooseboom and Simone Brummelhuis.

Sifted's list contains information about which founders in Europe - after successfully starting and growing their own company - have made the transition from fundraising to venture capital financing.

Laura is in the list because she was at the cradle of 2012 Oneplanetcrowd., the crowdfunding platform for impact start-ups, which subsequently merged with investment platform Invesdor in 2022. In 2019, she joined the Dutch VC as a partner Borski Fund. She is also, of course, Managing Partner at StartGreen Capital. Simone is included because she founded restaurant review website IENS (now known as The Fork), which was sold to Tripadvisor in 2015. In 2019 she became fund director and partner of Borski Fund.
