Overijssel Energy Fund helps 153 Kampen homes become more sustainable
11 June 2024
Energiefonds Overijssel, one of the funds managed by StartGreen Capital, this week signed an agreement with deltaWonen for a 7 million loan. The loan will allow the Overijssel housing association to make 153 homes in Kampen more sustainable.
More energy-efficient
To make the homes more energy efficient, they will receive improved insulation and hybrid heat pumps, heat recovery systems and solar panels will be installed. In addition, deltaWonen is working with grid operator Enexis to upgrade the neighbourhood's electricity grid in preparation for an energy-efficient future. Measures are being taken for birds and bats, such as the installation of nesting boxes so that they can continue to nest in the neighbourhood.
Wide range
Evert Leideman, managing director of deltaWonen is very happy with the funding: 'The money will enable a wide range of energy-saving measures. These include insulation improvements, installation of energy-efficient heating systems and the use of bio-based and circular materials. All this contributes to energy savings and thus, of course, to the living happiness of our residents. We started the project in April this year. According to plan, Ter Steege Bouw Vastgoed from Rijssen will finish the work during 2025.'
Climate target closer
Saving energy by implementing sustainability measures is an important part of the energy transition in Overijssel. With this in mind, deltaWonen received funding from Energiefonds. Joost Vlot, Investment Manager Energy Saving and Real Estate of Energiefonds Overijssel, says: "The Energiefonds aims to make Overijssel climate proof and energy neutral in 2050. Through cooperation with deltaWonen and other partners, we can realise this transition and thus our energy goal in Overijssel. Thus, together we are taking steps towards a more sustainable future.'
