Privacy

Personal data, in short, is data that can directly or indirectly identify a natural person. StartGreen only processes personal data if one of the following bases under the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG).

AVG:

• if necessary for the performance of an agreement;
• If the processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation;
• if StartGreen has a 'legitimate interest' in doing so (for example, to prevent fraud or to secure and protect computer systems); or
• if you have given your consent to process your personal data.

Depending on the relationship, we process the following personal data:

• identity information (such as first names, surname, date of birth, place/country of birth, sex nationality/country of birth, marital status, copy of ID or passport);
• contact details (such as address, phone number, e-mail address);
• bank and payment details (such as account holder, bank account number/IBAN, bank identifier);
• data on assets (such as origin of assets, amount of bank account balances, debts, other financial data).

Specifically for employees and job applicants, we collect and process curriculum vitae, work experience, educational data, (copy) certificates, diplomas and references. A BSN number is only collected and processed for employees.

In addition, we may process personal data about you that we have obtained from third parties, such as:

• data on companies and their representatives through the Chamber of Commerce; or:
• data from public public sources, such as BKR, bankruptcy registers, newspapers, the internet and social media.

StartGreen processes personal data of contacts with whom we cooperate (past, present or future). These include:

• companies with (potential) financing needs;
• (potential) co-investors or financiers;
• visitors to our website;
• contacts of corporate partners and business associates; and
• employees and applicants.

StartGreen processes your personal data only for the purpose for which they are intended. Depending on the relationship, your personal data will be processed for the following purposes, among others:

To perform agreement(s) that have been entered into. The legal basis is to execute an agreement and comply with a legal obligation;
to mitigate risks, for example by verifying that the details of (potential) entrepreneurs and investors are correct and/or acted upon by authorised persons. The legal basis is to execute an agreement and comply with a legal obligation;
To comply with legal obligations, for example to identify and verify business relationships. The legal basis is to comply with a legal obligation;
to carry out marketing activities, in particular to keep interested parties informed through newsletters or invitations to events. The legal basis is consent. This means that we do not process your personal data for this purpose without your consent;
To improve and innovate our services. The legal basis is consent. This means that we do not process your personal data for this purpose without your consent;
To contact you if necessary. The legal basis depends on the reason and may be for the performance of an agreement, to comply with a legal obligation and/or if you have given your consent to do so;
To process and maintain records. The legal basis is for the performance of an agreement and/or to comply with a legal obligation;
To conduct (statistical) research. The legal basis is consent. This means that we do not process your personal data for this purpose without your consent;
to enter into and maintain an employee/employer relationship and to keep personnel, financial, hours, absence and/or payroll records for this purpose. The legal basis is for the performance of an agreement and to comply with a legal obligation; and
to enter into and maintain a relationship aimed at acquiring and executing orders and to keep financial records for this purpose. The legal basis is for the performance of an agreement and/or to comply with a legal obligation.

We do not share your personal data with companies, organisations and individuals outside StartGreen, except where you have given your consent. StartGreen is the manager of multiple funds and a shareholder in Invesdor/Oneplanetcrowd, so it may share your data with the funds and/or Invesdor/Oneplanetcrowd or StartGreen may receive data from the funds and/or Invesdor/Oneplanetcrowd. Sharing may be necessary for our services, if, for example, you are an entrepreneur looking for funding or investors wish to invest in a fund. You hereby give your consent to this.

Furthermore, we may have to provide data to comply with legal obligations, for example to regulators or other (government) bodies. You can think of the AFM, the DNB or the tax authorities.

StartGreen does not sell your personal data to third parties without your consent.

To support our services, we use third-party services and applications. In that context, we may need to share your data with other parties if this is necessary for their specific services. This may include other service providers (e.g. IT suppliers, administration providers, payment providers or service providers for our internal business processes). We conclude processing agreements with these parties in line with the statutory provisions. In these, we lay down the agreements specifically about the processing of the personal data they obtain, such as how your personal data are safeguarded and secured, as well as that these parties may not process the data for their own purposes.

If StartGreen merges or is acquired by another company, then under our privacy policy, we may share your data with the new party. Should this happen, the new party will comply with this privacy policy.

In principle, we keep your data within the European Union. However, it is possible that, as part of the provision of services, your data may be processed outside the European Union if one of our service providers is located there. If this happens, we will do so in line with the strict rules governing this. We will ensure that there is an agreement with the other party that is in line with the standards approved by the European Commission at the time. 

StartGreen takes appropriate technical and organisational measures to secure your data against loss or any form of unlawful processing. Furthermore, employees of StartGreen are obliged to maintain confidentiality and they must not disclose your personal data unlawfully or unnecessarily. Your personal data will not be kept longer than necessary for the purposes for which they are processed. We are also required by law to keep your personal data. How long we keep your personal data varies from a few months to many years.

You have the right to know what personal data StartGreen processes about you. If your personal data is incorrect, you have the right to ask us to amend it.

You have the right to be deleted in a number of cases. In the event of a request for oblivion, we will first check which data is necessary for us to ensure continued service or necessary because we process your data on the basis of a legal obligation.

You have the right to ask StartGreen to transfer your personal data directly to you. This applies to personal data that we have processed with your consent or on the basis of a contract with you. To the extent technically possible, we will transfer your personal data. This is called 'data portability'.

If you wish to exercise any or all of the above rights, please contact StartGreen by email at info@startgreen.nl. We will inform you within one month of receiving your request about the implementation of the request.

You can. In every marketing communication from StartGreen, we offer you the opportunity to set your mail preferences so that we no longer approach you for specific messages. It is also possible to unsubscribe completely from our communications. Then you will no longer receive relevant marketing messages. 

We will, however, continue to send you notices when it comes to your agreement with StartGreen or when it concerns general information about our services or organisation. 

Opt-out complete; your visits to this website will not be recorded by the Web Analytics tool. Note that if you clear your cookies, delete the opt-out cookie, or if you change computers or Web browsers, you will need to perform the opt-out procedure again.

You may choose to prevent this website from aggregating and analysing the actions you take here. Doing so will protect your privacy, but will also prevent the owner from learning from your actions and creating a better experience for you and other users.
