From May 25, 2018, every company that processes personal data of European citizens must comply with the General Data Protection Regulation. The protection of your personal data is important to us. In this privacy statement, StartGreen provides you with more information about the way in which StartGreen implements this.

In short, personal data is data that can identify a natural person. StartGreen only collects personal data if there is a legal basis for this. This is in particular data that you provide to us yourself. Depending on the relationship, we collect and process personal data such as name, address, date of birth, nationality, gender, marital status, e-mail address, passport photo, (copy) ID or passport, financial data and IP address. Specifically for employees and applicants, we collect and process curriculum vitae, work experience, training data, (copy) certificates, diplomas and references. A BSN number is only collected and processed for employees.
In addition, we can process personal data about you that we have obtained from third parties, such as:
- information about companies and their representatives via the Chamber of Commerce; or
- data from public public sources, such as BKR, bankruptcy registers, newspapers, internet and social media.
StartGreen processes personal data of contacts we work with, in the past, present or in the future. This concerns:
- (potential) target companies;
- (potential) co-investors or financiers;
- visitors to our website;
- contact persons of business partners and business relations; and
- employees and applicants.
Buttons of Social Media are available, such as Google+, Facebook or Twitter. This Privacy Statement does not apply to this one Social Media. The use of Social Media is your responsibility. We recommend that you use the privacy statements of this Social Read the media so you know what is happening with your data. A lot of Social Media providers are located outside the European Union and transfer your personal data outside the European Union. This means that your personal data may not be protected to the same level as within the European Union.
StartGreen may only process your personal data if there is a legal basis for this. We process your personal data on the basis of at least one of the following legal bases:
- if this is necessary for the performance of an agreement;
- if the processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation;
- if we have a “legitimate interest” for this; or
- if you have given permission to process your personal data.
StartGreen currently processes your personal data for the following purposes:
- to execute agreement (s) that have been concluded;
- to reduce risks, for example by verifying whether the details of entrepreneurs are correct and / or whether the actions are taken by the authorized persons;
- to comply with legal obligations, for example to identify business relationships;
- to carry out marketing activities, in particular to keep interested parties informed by means of newsletters or invitations to events;
- to improve and innovate our services;
- to contact you if necessary;
- to process and maintain records;
- to conduct (statistical) research;
- to enter into and maintain an employee / employer relationship and to keep personnel, financial, hours, absenteeism and / or salary administration for this purpose; and
- to enter into and maintain a relationship aimed at acquiring and executing assignments and to keep a financial administration for this.
We may have to provide data to regulators or other (government ) organizations. Then you can think of the AFM or DNB, but also the tax authorities.
StartGreen does not sell your personal data to third parties without your permission.
In the context of our services, we may share your data with other parties if this is necessary for their specific services. You can think of other service providers (for example IT suppliers or administration provider). We conclude agreements with these parties in accordance with the legal provisions. In it we record the agreements specifically about the processing of the personal data they obtain. Think of security, but also that these parties are not allowed to process the data for their own purposes.
In principle, we keep your data within the European Union. However, it is possible that as part of the service, your data will be processed outside the European Union if one of our service providers is located there. If this happens, we will do this in line with the strict rules that apply. We will ensure that there is an agreement with the other party that is in line with the standards approved by the European Commission at that time.
StartGreen takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against loss or any form of unlawful processing. Moreover, employees of StartGreen are obliged to maintain confidentiality and they may not provide your personal data unlawfully or unnecessarily.
Your personal data will not be kept longer than necessary for the purposes for which they are processed. The law also obliges us to keep your personal data. How long we keep your personal data varies from a few months to many years.
You have the right to know which of your personal data StartGreen processes. If your personal data is incorrect, you have the right to ask us to adjust it.
In a number of cases you have the right to be deleted. In the event of a request for oblivion, we first check which data is necessary for us to guarantee the further service or necessary because we process your data on the basis of a legal obligation.
In a number of cases you have the right to ask StartGreen to limit the use of your personal data or to have it temporarily “stopped”.
StartGreen can process personal data because of a legitimate interest of StartGreen. You may believe that your personal circumstances outweigh StartGreen's legitimate interest in using your personal data. You then have the right to object and to invoke your right to object.
You have the right to ask StartGreen to transfer your personal data directly to you. This applies to personal data that we have processed with your consent or on the basis of a contract with you. We will transfer your personal data as far as technically possible. This is called "data portability”.

Which can. In every marketing communication from StartGreen we offer you the option to set your email preferences so that we no longer approach you for specific messages. It is also possible to unsubscribe completely from our communication. Then you will no longer receive relevant marketing messages.
We will continue to send you messages when it comes to your agreement with StartGreen or when it concerns general information about our services or organization.
