Susan Leerkes, Commercial Director at Van Lanschot Kempen, explains in this blog why this independent Wealth manager<\/em> invests in the Borski Fund.<\/p>\n

Responsible and sustainable<\/span><\/strong>
\nAll investment solutions from Van Lanschot Kempen<\/a> are sustainable and contribute to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations<\/a>. As a sustainable investor, you don't just assess companies on financial results, but also on how they treat their employees and the environment, and how they approach ethical issues. For example, we do not invest in nuclear power producers, arms manufacturers, or companies that are guilty of violating human rights or the working conditions of their employees.<\/p>\n

Impact investing<\/span><\/strong>
\nIn addition, we believe it's important for private investors to be able to invest in impact investments more easily. Therefore, Van Lanschot clients can invest in the Kempen Global Impact Pool. This fund aims to make a positive contribution to 5 of the UN's 17 SDGs. For instance, the fund contributes to affordable, quality healthcare & financial services, a sustainable food chain, and affordable and sustainable energy, among other things.<\/p>\n

Social return<\/span><\/strong>
\nWe have in Borski Fund<\/a> invested for both financial and social returns. Borski Funds applies negative screening in sectors such as tobacco, a sector in which we ourselves do not invest. Furthermore, the fund contributes to SDGs 3, 5, 8, 12 & 17 which largely overlap with our own investment policy. SDG 5: gender equality, entails commitment to diversity and equal opportunities for men and women. Borski Fund offers a great opportunity for this, something you want to be a part of. It is no coincidence that Klaas Knot of De Nederlandsche Bank and Queen M\u00e1xima attended the fund's launch.<\/p>\n

Gender equality<\/span><\/strong>

We also come into contact with other investors at the fund\u2019s meetings, with whom we can play a role in managing their assets or related matters such as a (family) mortgage. \nFurthermore, we have a responsibility to our shareholders: every investment must be able to stand on its own two feet. Borski Fund does that.
