During my study Business Economics in Tilburg, I was contacted by my thesis supervisor corporate financerolled into the world. In the following years, I have assisted many entrepreneurs, corporates and financiers as a consultant in various M&A, PE and VC transactions. Then I got the chance to buy side work and take responsibility for investment decisions at first family office in The Hague and then with John Laing, an international investor in infrastructure and renewable energy. Within StartGreen Capital, my focus is on project financing and corporate loans aimed at the energy transition and circularity.
Realizing transition
My passion for the energy transition arose during my time at John Laing. I have become convinced that we must act now to just zero-achieving goals. As a father of two, I now understand better, to quote John James Audubon, that 'the world is not given by our fathers, but borrowed from our children'. It gives me great satisfaction that I can use my professional experiences from the past 17 years to build a bridge between sustainability initiatives and the financing world. And thereby help realize the transition to a sustainable future.
