Stijn Welage

I gain a lot of energy from realising complex but tangible projects, from setting up new initiatives, and from taking responsibility in a deal-driven environment. After my Master's in Civil Engineering in Delft, I started at ING via their traineeship in Leveraged Finance, where I arranged acquisition financings for private equity parties. After a short period as a Finance & Strategy Consultant, I spent most of my career as an investor in renewable energy and infrastructure with the British investor John Laing. At StartGreen, I am currently setting up the StartGreen Transition Fund and investing in companies active in the circular and energy transition.

Actual impact
The enormous task of shaping the circular and energy transition requires action at the interface between entrepreneurship, finance, and technology. It gives me great satisfaction to actually be able to make an impact at this interface and to do so within an entrepreneurial structure.
